About Us

Star Events Ltd, a subsidiary of Altrad Beaver 84 Ltd, has been supplying equipment and services to the events industry for 40 years. We’ve designed and delivered stages, structures, seating and rigging for some of the world’s most high-profile events as well as for a vast array of smaller community and commercial events. We carefully consider each particular situation, irrespective of the audience size, to provide equipment, service and safety you can rely on.

Safety

Everything Star Events does is designed with safety in mind.  We aim to not just meet, but exceed requirements and to lead the industry in terms of health and safety standards.  All contractors claim to be safe, but we have had our safety systems independently verified. We are fully accredited to the international OHSAS 18001 standard and to the UK’s CHAS (Contractors Health & Safety Assessment Scheme).  We were also one of the first companies to achieve a Gold Award in the Event Contractors Safety Register.

Design and engineering

Star Events is one of few event industry structure suppliers with a full-time engineering and design office.  Staffed by mechanical and structural engineers, and technicians, it enables us to produce our own calculations and assess the loads applied by touring shows to any of our structures, right through to any last minute changes.

Our stages, structures, seats and rigging services all have one principle in common; they use the best technology and engineering design to create environments that are in equal parts versatile, safe and stunning. Our innovative designs, some Patented, are based on our depth of experience in understanding and solving industry problems.

Our service

We constantly assess our methods, keeping them compliant with various regulatory requirements, Work at Height being one prime example. To that end, we are members of all the relevant industry working groups, including those operated by the HSE.

Our team

We take a team based approach to managing our busy company. Our Directors, Roger Barrett and Steve Tysoe make ongoing strategic decisions to proactively move the business forward, while our senior management team handles day-to-day operations.  We employ forty-one full-time staff and manage around 200 freelancers.
