Event Name

Edinburgh’s Hogmanay 2014

Client

Unique Events Ltd

The brief never stands still at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, long described as the best party in the world. Star Events has been a component part of the event for 14-years, addressing the creative challenges with ingenuity and precision.

In 2014, the principal elements of its 15m VerTech system were part assembled and secured against the weather before Christmas. Providing for the headline Concert in the Gardens, in step with increasingly bigger, heavier Hogmanay shows, the stage has been developed to incorporate the same high-strength mega truss used in the larger 20m and 25m VerTech systems.

The Star Events team completed the build after a short festive break and handed the platform over to production on December 29. The company deployed mobile stages to Frederick Street and Waverley Street in the heart of the City Centre as road closures for the party came in to place, together with the entire requisite supporting infrastructure, including bespoke front of house and camera structures to all three sites.
