Star Presents at IIRSM Crowd and Event Safety Conference

Feb 4, 2019

Star Events’ Special Projects Director, Roger Barrett, will talk temporary structures at the International Institute of Risk & Safety Management’s (IIRSM) Crowd and Event Safety conference in London next month.

Almost every event uses temporary structures and there are obvious risks involved but a woeful lack of information to help project managers assess and deal with those dangers.

Following on from his session at IIRSM Manchester in December, Roger’s talk will update conference attendees about the HSE’s input to making temporary structures safer.

He will highlight real life examples of failures and near misses before explaining his traffic light system, which helps anyone assess the overall safety of a temporary structure and demonstrating the key things to look for to ensure each structure is safe.

Highly commended at the inaugural IIRSM Risk Excellence Awards in 2018, Star Events’ senior team provides in-house training and consultancy to its clients ensuring safer, and better, events.

With scenario, emergency planning, prioritising and understanding risks based on impact, it’s a must-attend opportunity for all event professionals.

As well as playing an important part in the development of health and event safety. the IIRSM event’s comprehensive agenda also covers the psychology of crowds and how to manage them.

The one-day IIRSM Crowd and Event Safety conference takes place on 20 March 2019 at 100 Victoria Street, London.
